ABOUT PAYNE ENGINEERING
Payne Engineering was founded in July 5th, 1996. We are specializing in a wide range of electrical engineering services, with extensive experience in commercial, retail, industrial, and institutional electrical design.
Our staff, consisting of two licensed engineers, secretary, and CAD drafting staff forms an unbeatable team dedicated to quality design and calculations. We’re trained in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Visual Lighting Photometric, and Microsoft Office programs.
Todd Payne PE
Todd’s engineering experience began as a draftsman in 1987. In 1992, he graduated from Idaho State University, and then in 1996, after nine years of apprenticeship, he became licensed as a Professional Engineer and founded Payne Engineering. Todd has extensive experience working on health care, higher education, and secondary education facilities, churches and religious institutions, and a variety of commercial and retail projects in many different states. You can count on his experience to help you find the right solutions for your project.
Shawn Meader PE
Shawn started his career as an electrician, and then earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Boise State University in 2003. In 2007, he earned his P.E. license while working in Boise. He started working at Payne Engineering in 2012, bringing a broad range of electrical design experience. He’s worked in everything from medical and office buildings to government and industrial facilities. He has a complete understanding of the electrical and international building codes, as well as effective problem solving skills and practical experience, all of which make him uniquely suited to help you with your project.

We believe that communication is the cornerstone of our relationship with you. From conception through design and construction, an open, honest dialogue between our team and you ensures your project will be completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with all codes.
Payne Engineering works hard to obtain information through site visits, existing plans, people familiar with facilities, and others affected by the project. This information is analyzed to ensure reliability, dependability, economics of installation and operation, code compliance, ease of installation and maintenance of the system.
We pride ourselves in accurate plans and details with clear, concise specifications. It is through clearly and accurately describing the contractor’s responsibility that field problems are minimized and bid prices are competitive.
